Although most of Sudan’s great elephant herds were wiped out during the decades of civil war, large numbers still persist in the vast, roadless areas of the Sudd. I was lucky to have a few hours of helicopter time over this remote area, as part of a census and radio collar operation conducted by @thewcs in 2010.
