ジェシカ・シーバさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ジェシカ・シーバInstagram)「My boys especially -Justin, Jack and Beau -live and breathe the game of basketball. They play every day, on wooden gym courts and concrete school courts. In front of our house and inside our house, on the toilet (yep), and in hotel rooms. They check scores and follow players religiously. The news about Kobe and Gianna, along with the the Altobelli, Chester, Mauser and Zobayan families devastated us. Kobe was a hero, not in the literal sense, but to the countless people he personally helped. To his daughters and his fans and those who really love to watch him and appreciate the game. And to my boys, who saw a legend who worked hard for his success. I’ve shared my thoughts in stories mostly, but I keep coming back to this: Kobe was a brilliant player, a wonderful dad and a thoughtful advocate. He was also a complex, flawed human, a common trait amongst us mortals. I do not discount the stories of survivors and hold space for complicated feelings. And you know, if we aren’t living each one of our days by putting in work to acknowledge our flaws and truly listen and see the communities and layers of complicated human stuff around us, then what are we even doing?
