🦓In honor of #InternationalZebraDay, here’s a photo of Dr. Kamau (first photo) and Dr. Milnes (second and third photos) with our global health program assisting our partners at @mpalalive Research Centre in Kenya to rescue an orphaned plains zebra foal. The foal was found wandering alone in the nearby community. Rangers from Mpala transported the foal to our partners at Ol Jogi Wildlife Conservancy where she is being cared for by dedicated keepers in their wildlife rescue center. She is fed milk six times every day and being weighed to make sure she is growing and gaining weight. #PlainsZebra #Kenya #Zebra #ZebraFoal #WeSaveSpecies

As part of an on-going collaborative partnership between @Kenyawildlifeservice, @AolJogi, @mpalalive and the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, and with core program support from @MorrisAnimal and the Keller family, these field veterinarians tend to wildlife emergencies, conduct critical research in wildlife disease and conservation issues, and provide hands-on training for future generations of wildlife professionals.
