Back when people thought the planet was flat, they would walk to this point, believing it was as far as they could go. This point is also part of the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage thousands of people walk every year. Many pilgrims will do a “post-pilgrimage” once they have completed their journey to Santiago de Compestela. They walk to this peninsula and sacrifice their pilgrim clothes by burning them at sunset. Often these are clothes that have been worn through 500-plus miles of sweat and blisters. After walking the pilgrimage myself, I sat at this point during sunset as this local dog wandered the rocks.
