こんな時こそ食べるコトが大事。
そんな事を思いながら子ども達と
今年最後の味噌仕込みをしています。
「生きるために食べよ、食べるために生きるな」
これは、古代ギリシャの哲学者ソクラテスの有名な言葉。
教科書にも刻まれていくような過酷な現実と直面しても
まずお腹にあたたかいものを届けよう。
わたしたちは今日の世界を変えられないけど
世界も今日のわたしたちを変えられない。
だから食べよう。
今日を力強く、今日も生きるために。 “ Thou shouldst eat to live; not live to eat.”
This is a famous remark by Socrates, a philosopher in Ancient Greece. You should eat what is warm to your stomach first even if you face the hard reality shown in textbooks. Though we cannot change what goes on in the world, it cannot change us either.
So eat well.
To survive today; to keep living today.
