Just wanted to send out some love to all of the athletes that were/are training for the Olympics♥️ I honestly can’t imagine almost 16 years ago being told that the Olympics were being postponed. So many sporting events are every year but not the Olympics. For me, 2004 was my one and only shot. I was just lucky that my age ended up being perfect (I turned 16 a few months before). How crazy is it that even your birthday can be such a big determining factor in your shot at the Olympics! I was lucky everything worked out and my dreams did come true and I did win an Olympic gold medal. But if that had been taken away from me, I would’ve been absolutely crushed and devastated. All of those years training for one particular goal to then not have that opportunity would’ve been heartbreaking. But I’ve been trying to look at the positives of this situation: Coming together as world and country, saving lives and truly living for a purpose right now; having a whole year to train, get stronger, upgrade routines and get better than you ever have been. And in one year, what an incredible scene it will be to have beaten this virus and all unite together as one! We can do this. #Tokyo2021 #olympics」4月2日 3時10分
