I work a lot. I may not go to an office, but my job is real. Here's the tea: I have built three personal brands online, treat them like businesses and run them. (To be fair, Chloe completely has been running her own business for over a year, so I'm down to two: me and Clara) 👯⁠ ⁠ I was lucky enought to be on a reality show at the time social media was JUST starting to be a big thing. So, we built followings. There was no strategy, no algorithms, no planned feeds. It was simply sharing our lives. 👋🏻⁠ ⁠ But that changed. We could have just relied on the followers we had and looked at it like "we're good" and we would have stayed right where we were, but I have a background in marketing and an obsession with research. So, I read and researched and made adjustments. I saw social media as the future and knew it could bring huge opportunities. 💻⁠ ⁠ At first, I only looked at Chloe's potential to build a business. I dismissed myself as someone who "no one cared about" and Clara as "too young." But then I realized that investing in your online presence is like putting money into a savings account, no matter WHO you are. It's the little things NOW that can really add up in the future. 💲⁠ ⁠ Don't think this applies to you? Think again. Applying for a job? Guess where the person hiring you looks first? Social media. Want to make additional money? Guess how many online options there are that besides being an influencer? TONS! 💰⁠ ⁠ Take this one example: if I was a teacher during covid, I could come up with a course or webinar or a private Facebook group for parents that was something like "Tips from a Teacher: Best Ways to Teach Your Kids at Home." And since I already had established myself as a credible teacher online, this would have been a no-brainer for people to buy people because they already knew I was an expert (teacher) and trusted me. 📕🏡⁠ ⁠ There are so many innovative deas for a side hustle and I LOVE to brainstorm.
