White rhinos are among the largest land mammals. Interestingly, their name doesn’t refer to their color but comes from the Afrikaans word “weit,” which means “wide,” and refers to the animal’s mouth. This female and calf were pretty easy to spot on a daily basis, as they tended to roam the same general area each afternoon.
