One randomly decided genetic factor like skin color should not determine that. When careless, ignorant people murder a man hiding behind a badge, in this case George Floyd, so blatantly and so callously, and we the society around them don’t hold them accountable, we are essentially saying that not only do we accept this behavior but we support it. We become complicit. I know many of you are tired of the cycle of outrage followed by inaction followed by amnesia. I am too. Which is how long this ‘officer’ kneeled on George’s neck until he suffocated and died, while pleading #ICantBreathe I have to believe most people are good people and I have to believe most cops are good cops who do a very difficult and dangerous job. We should applaud them as heroes. But I have to believe that any good cop would agree with me that this kind of extreme, unnecessary, excessive force is murder and a disgrace to the uniform. These officers essentially gave George Floyd the death penalty for allegedly using a fake 20 dollar bill. Rightly, we should hold these officers accountable for his death.
