I haven't slept much since the death of George Floyd, so I can't begin to imagine how it must feel to be black right now.
You've been trying to tell us about systematic racism and white privilege for years. I can't imagine what it must be like watching white people debate against you on television about whether racism actually exists. I can't imagine what it must feel like to experience fear, racial profiling, and to have to watch people be murdered by police in broad daylight. To read the president of the United States quoting segregationalists from the 1960's.
I hope this tragic event is the wake-up call the world needs for the systems to change. And I promise to continue to educate myself and speak up against racism.
To any of my white followers who still don't understand what 'White Privilege' is, who are 'scared to say the wrong thing', then there's some amazing resources available. Http://antiracismforbeginners.com/
Follow black leaders and activists to follow what is going on. (For example: @shaunking @tamikadmallory @nowhitesaviors)

I thought this quote was brilliant so I'll leave it here: “The problem is that white people see racism as conscious hate, when racism is bigger than that. Racism is a complex system of social and political levers and pulleys set up generations ago to continue working on the behalf of whites at other people’s expense, whether whites know/like it or not. Racism is an insidious cultural disease. It is so insidious that it doesn’t care if you are a white person who likes black people; it’s still going to find a way to infect how you deal with people who don’t look like you. Yes, racism looks like hate, but hate is just one manifestation. Privilege is another. Access is another. Ignorance is another. Apathy is another. And so on. So while I agree with people who say no one is born racist, it remains a powerful system that we’re immediately born into. It’s like being born into air: you take it in as soon as you breathe." - Scott Woods
