As we have seen what is going on in America in the last week, I decided that I could not be silent any longer. As a black man, I repudiate any form of racism against anyone. We are all brothers and sisters and it makes no sense to me that we still have to fight about this. People should never be judged by their color but by their character. I believe America and the world have gone a long way in the last 50 years, but there is so much more that can be done. What happened to George Floyd is unacceptable. Racial injustice and police brutality is a reality that black people suffer. I am committed to working with other players, league and my club to create positive change in our community. We have the power and platform to affect change, and I will use it. We all felt the pain and I am also for the peaceful protests that has happened all over the world. The increasingly confrontational demonstrations taking place across the USA will not resolve our issues on racial inequality or feelings of economic hopelessness brought on by the coronavírus pandemic overnight.
