Tuna {breed:chiweenie} さんのインスタグラム写真 - (Tuna {breed:chiweenie} Instagram)「As mentioned a couple of days ago, the mission of this account is to bring people joy and laughter, but I also believe that I have a responsibility as an “influencer” to speak up. I’ve thought and prayed hard about this, and for me, today is not the day to be muted. Instead I’m going to post the June image of Tuna from his calendar to bring you some joy, as well as share some helpful information in a carousel on how we collectively can take more action. That brilliant post is by @mireillecharper. I’ll also be posting more resources in my stories as well. If you feel a conviction to post or leave up the black square, I have read to leave off or remove the hashtag blacklivesmatter because it clogs the hashtag feed for activists and organisers to share their vital messages. Thank you for participating if you felt led to. If you’ve already posted the square but you’ve decided to take it down, there is no shame in that. Social media is a powerful and critical tool so whatever you choose to post today or any day moving forward, ask yourself “WHY” first, and then take a moment to consider the impact that your post is having on your followers. What is it saying or not saying? You have a platform and your followers are paying attention. Use it wisely and “don’t miss this moment,” as my dear friend @jesspuccinelli keeps reminding her followers. So for me, I decided that today is not the day for a blackout on my feed. I understand the solidarity and intention behind it, but for me today is not the day to not say anything. Instead, today is an opportunity to bring you all joy through Tuna’s precious face, as well as to shed some light on steps towards action so that we can be helpful and productive. Lastly, if you want to mute yourself, I would encourage you do it before your friends of colour. Sit with them and listen. Listen to their hurt and to their anguish. Cry with them. Grieve with them. Ask them questions about their pain, not to seek answers so that we can get schooled on how to help, but to simply listen to their hearts. By practicing this we’re holding space for our friends to be authentically heard and that ignites a movement.」6月3日 5時09分 - tunameltsmyheart
