While there is the usual ignorance and hate to be dealt with, the world came together again to take a stand. I am forever grateful to all the many celebrities and influencers in Japan that helped translate and transmit this message. I’m grateful for the understanding of fans who knew little about this issue, but were moved enough to ask what they could do to help. This is another year that will test the resolve, the standards and the conscience of the world. This is in one very large part about police brutality, but also about where the world chooses to stand on the issue of racism and bigotry. A large number of people came out loud and clear against hate. For that I thank you. To the silent culture vultures who profit off black culture, but took no stand and said nothing, no we did not hear you, but we sure as hell saw you. The lack of compassion, empathy, respect, and loyalty in a time of need won’t easily be forgotten. Our culture is not fashion. So many people stood up with us, and the fact that so many of you didn’t is heart breaking. But that’s what this is about. Understanding who means to be an ally, and who means to stand in the way of equality for everyone. Moving forward we must hold this line.
