Hazel scott playing two pianos at the same time, 1943. This piano prodigy was the first black american to have her own TV show (The Hazel Scott show). She was a champion for civil rights. She refused to perform before segregated audiences and turned down stereotypical roles in hollywood. In 1949 when a waitress refused to serve her and a friend, she successfully sued the owner of the restaurant. (repost from @thiswashollywood)
