On one hand I look at at all these lovely little faces & think of the thousands of others that this isolation care package project has allowed us to help & I feel really proud of how far we’ve come & what we’ve achieved. And on the other hand, I am filled with a huge sense of sadness that today is the last day & I feel like I have so much in me still left to give & there are so many people still to help. But unfortunately all good things must come to an end. (I am going to cry a lot today!) 11 weeks ago, realising I couldn’t look at another picture of an old man staring at a ransacked supermarket shelf with an empty basket, myself the @scoffmeals gang & the wonderful team at @yahireltd agreed we couldn’t sit idly by & see the elderly people of Britain go hungry & suffer when they had done so much for us- so we contacted @age_uk & with their help our project began! Over the last 3 months we have sent out between 7-10 thousands boxes to elderly & vulnerable members of communities throughout the UK & we couldn’t have done it without the help of our AMAZING volunteers & our INCREDIBLE big brand sponsors- without you this wouldn’t have been possible! Our volunteers work every week sweating & getting stressed out for little or no recognition. And that goes for all of the lovely people at various @age_uk ‘s across the country & their fabulous teams of volunteers who helped distribute our little bundles of joy! So I just wanted to say Thankyou- I can’t mention you all by name, but you know who you are 💙 And my final Thankyou goes to every single one of you who has donated & kept our project going- there’s been a couple of hairy moments- where it didn’t look like it could continue- I funded the project myself for awhile as I got ashamed constantly asking you for money but every time I have made an appeal you have rose to the occasion beautifully! So I ask you this, one last time- if anyone out there can spare anything at all, we would be eternally grateful for whatever you can give.
