Now, a Black woman owns this home.

But I didn’t get here on my own. There were those who came before me who refused to be silent when someone said shut-up, refused to shrink when someone labeled them aggressive, refused to walk away just because they didn’t have a seat at the table, refused to stay within the lines that were created to box them in. Their refusal to give up is why I am here today.

I salute every Black woman, Black man and all allies of Black lives who paved the way and made it possible for me to have this seat. A seat where I now champion growth, change and opportunity for those who come after me."
