Photo by @babaktafreshi | Long-exposure images, which reveal star trails, are unique visuals, reminding us not only of the nonstop rotation of the planet but also of the timeless sky above the changing Earth. Some like this also remind us of the stellar swirls in van Gogh paintings such as "The Starry Night". This was a moonlit autumn night in Yosemite National Park in California. The northern stars appears to circle around the north celestial pole (marked by the north star, Polaris) in this 45-minute time-lapse exposure.
