As you know, my eldest daughter, Darcy, is from my previous relationship and Pearlie is from my current (and hopefully forever!🥰) one. . I share #custody and every other weekend that I don’t have her, I feel like part of my heart is missing. This is sad but it’s what I chose and I do feel it is a better life for all involved. . The new thing I feel though, now Pearl is more active and playful is #DIVORCED MUM GUILT. When Liam, Pearl and I have a lovely weekend, which we just did, I feel almost like I’ve cheated on Darcy. Like I shouldn’t fully enjoy being a Mummy when my mummy heart isn’t fully full yanno😞? . THEN, on top of that, I feel guilty to Pearl because why shouldn’t she have a #Mummy who is loving the weekend with her? She’s more than enough to fill my mummy cup! Gargh! . I think as Pearl grows and becomes more child than toddler, this will become more of a thing. I’m able to rationalise myself out of it but I just wanted to let it have its moment. It’s ok to sit in the hard parts of life for a while. Just not going to wallow or overthink. 💪🏻 . Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a Mummy, there are still new twists and turns to navigate. I’m this 🤷🏼‍♀️emoji most of the time- not always sure but trying my best 🥰 . Are any of you in blended families? What have you found most helpful to make it all work?
