While seeing a bear is exciting and certainly one of the highlights of any visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway in #NorthCarolina and #Virginia, to keep them and yourself safe, never approach them or feed them. A bear can quickly lose its natural fear of people when we crowd them or observe them too closely and that only leads to negative results. Visitors to the #BlueRidgeParkway come and go, bears and other wildlife will call the parkway and its surrounding area home forever. Let's respect them and this special place.
