This is much about safety as it it’s about success in the image creation. I can’t tell you how many times I have driven through the dark only to get my unfamiliar location tired hoping to muster some creative juices to then compose an image. Often times you are in an unfamiliar place, in a forest, on a cliff edge or ,ideally, somewhere remote and dark. It’s a recipe for disaster & I have the scars to prove it. Finding your composition during the day, or taking the time to scout, research & return to a place you are prepared to shoot always seems to yield much better results !
