Naomi is a 16-year-old tech diva from Maryland who had an early interest in tech when her mom enrolled her in Color Coded Kids courses, where she learned the fundamentals of computer programming. She was recently chosen as a Code with Klossy 2020 Scholar and is studying web development this summer through Karlie Kloss’s coding camp. She is a tech advocate in her community and leads as a branch manager of CodersChicksMD. She is also a Kindling Curiosity computer science instructor teaching free online classes to 4th-8th graders. Last month, Naomi co-led a virtual workshop with Black Girls Code teaching younger girls how to build apps. Naomi’s work is so important and now more than ever is needed in empowering Black girls to crush it in the industry they are passionate about.
