I’m proud of the progress that this country has made towards creating laws that support inclusivity and diversity. And as amazing as this country is, it too has a dark history and is still in need of greatly improving its treatment of indigenous people and people of colour, in addition to addressing and eradicating police brutality and systemic racism. We as a nation need to do better so that EVERY Canadian can live their truth freely and without fear. We need to stand up and speak out against injustice.
