Sai Bat (Morning Alms) is a longstanding tradition in Luang Prabang Buddhist culture. The towns people offer food to the monks along the main streets of the city at 5:30am every morning. The ceremony is undertaken in complete silence and is over in less than an hour. Monks and novices then return to their respective Wats (temples) for the first meal of the day. #monks #luangprabang #saibat #buddhism #laos
