He is the co-founder of the @thesurfridermalibu—a 20-room hotel , at First Point in Malibu, with a pretty iconic history in the surf world. "I was raised locally and grew up surfing Malibu, but moved to NYC in my early 20s for just under a decade. When living there a friend said to me: 'Mate, do you know this place Surfrider?' I thought he meant the beach but he actually meant the quirky little place across the road. I was on a plane the next day and so began the 4-year project to bring the icon back to life." A keen surfer himself, we tasked Mr Goodwin to give us a look into his life on the Southern California coast and let us tag along for a day of surfing.
