ヘイリー・ウィリアムスさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ヘイリー・ウィリアムスInstagram)「Kathryn Edwards started Drkmttr in 2015 after The Other Basement — the historic Nashville house venue where she’d set up all-ages shows since 2011, and the namesake for her booking operation @theotherbooking — ceased to be. In the five years since, Drkmttr has evolved into a full-blown collective and community hub. Kathryn books shows, along with Chappy and Rachel. Ian fixes things and runs sound. Noel and J.B. helped build everything. I (Olivia) manage day-to-day operations. We have had so many volunteers over the years it’s impossible to name them all, but you know who you are. We’ve been through a lot, so I’ll spare you the boring parts. Our openings, closings and re-openings have been well-documented in the @nashvillescene and other local media. Since this is Nashville, yes, we play in bands (tagged in the next slides). We tour in beat-up vans. We play basements and venues like ours all over the country. So with Drkmttr, we had a clear vision. We dreamt of a welcoming place with good sound, where you could sit in a comfy chair under soft lighting and drink a Red Bull or a beer. Above all else, we envisioned a venue where no matter who you are, you felt safe and accepted. So we created it. Today, we’re going to share with you some of the struggles and triumphs of running an all-ages nonprofit and how it ties into politics and grassroots activism.
