I little bit about me; I am interior designer from St. Louis but I’ve been living in Phoenix for almost 10 years. . My career path has been a pretty straight arrow. I studied interior design in undergrad & followed it up with a Masters of Architecture. However, my love of how spaces are used has kept me pretty grounded in the interior design field. . I started @ablackgirlinwestelm as a way to connect & create a space for Black women in the design community. Feeling isolated in my career, I wanted a safe haven for me & others to express who I am and hopefully inspire others. Along with that, I’m not a very DIY type of person & I wanted a platform that catered to that community too. . Having @ablackgirlinwestelm has given me the support & courage to finally start my own business, which officially launched less that two weeks ago! . So, stay tuned today, where I will be sharing with you my own personal experiences in the education & professional sides of design.
