We cannot be effective agents for change unless we know exactly WHY we believe what we do. In today’s “jump on the bandwagon” culture, it’s easy to feel useful and right by jumping on the loudest side of social justice. I deeply believe in the things I advocate for, but I’m always checking in with myself as to why. We’re at our highest capacity for effecting change when we are clear on Why something is wrong (beyond “our culture says it is” or “I feel like it’s wrong).
