79% of Californians support a 2,500 foot public health buffer between oil extraction sites and the communities living, working, and playing near them. And yet, the state of California is currently one of the few oil-producing states with no required distance between drilling and communities. Tomorrow, CA state lawmakers will decide whether or not to move forward AB 345, a bill that would fix that by requiring a public health buffer zone between fossil fuel sites and communities.
