The neural-mechanism behind super recognition is still largely unknown, but the skill seems to be genetic and possessed by only about one percent of the population.⁠ ⁠ Kelly Hearsey is one such super recognizer. She took a test in 2018 and got the highest score they’d ever seen from over six million candidates.
