村上隆さんのインスタグラム写真 - (村上隆Instagram)「Over the course of three years I have focused on creating a body of work that pays homage to painter Michel Majerus, drawing upon and reflecting the artistic spirit of his use of imagery of the ʻ90s such sneakers, computer fonts, corporate logos and electronic music album art in his bold, often humorous compositions. His silkscreen-like application of paint has long been a fascination of mine, and our shared interest in exploring popular imagery from throughout history makes his work a particular inspiration for me. I am very excited to be showing these new works in Berlin at the Michel Majerus Estate (@michelmajerusestate) in the exhibition “Takashi Murakami: Michel Majerus Superflat,” which will be on view from September 12, 2020 to February 26, 2022.
