Photo by @laurakmorton A visitor to San Francisco’s famous “crooked" Lombard Street rides a motorized skateboard down the otherwise empty roadway in March, during the second week of the city’s shelter-in-place order. One of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, the area would usually be packed with visitors and cars idling while waiting to drive down the road. During shelter in place residents were allowed outside for exercise, and as I walked around the city it was eerie to see all the normally bustling tourist sights almost completely devoid of people.
