Ostriches can run at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Although they do not have to use this tremendous ability very often. Adult ostriches don't have many enemies. When running, they can only be caught up and attacked by cheetahs. However, if their chicks or their nests are attacked, they can very successfully chase away any enemy at very high speed. Hyenas and jackals are afraid of the most dangerous kicks of the ostriches. Even a lion they can kill with their sharp toes.
