This fall, our Photographs department in New York will offer an auction series featuring 3 online sales over the course of 6 weeks with nearly 300 works encompassing 100 years of photography. ⠀

The various owners Photographs sale begins on 21 September, with iconic works by artists from Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Adams to Peter Beard and Nick Brandt.⠀

In October, we will present the distinguished W.M. Hunt Collection beginning 5 October including works by Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Annie Leibovitz.⠀

The third sale will offer property sold to benefit the Aperture Foundation (19 - 28 October) — a New York-based non-profit arts institution dedicated to advancing photography in all of its myriad forms. The sale features works by a variety of master and emerging artists, such as David Benjamin Sherry, Alex Prager, Hank Willis Thomas, Mark McKnight, and others. All works were generously donated by artists, collectors, gallerists, and Aperture patrons.⠀

All sales benefit Aperture's not-for-profit services and activities, with proceeds supporting general operations and the purchase of new permanent headquarters in New York.⠀
