Ours was a wedding in the hills of Blue Ridge paradise, the congregation of only those who have been so dear to us there to witness the rain stop and the sun come out for those few hours that we vowed to honor the inspirations we fingerprinted, and the tales that we set ourselves up to tell. We scurried off onto our honeymoon on the rural dirt roads of Italy only to stay in converted monasteries and end up talking with red lipsticked hookers twirling their parasols and adjusting their wigs as they stared off into unattainable distances. We were graced with mischievous Indians late on a moon drenched night helping along the coming of our exclamation point, the Bean, who has made an indelible mark on our hearts every second of every day. But now that she is here, I must leave. We are ensconcing in roots and the surge of your Southern cells I feel deeply in me as I kick and scream at having to leave you from this paradise and this coming together of us that was set up to be doomed, the love that never should’ve happened. And here we are, in love, fated, with another of God’s sculptures already kicking furiously her way into what will be an obviously very active future. And your face again shines with that Botticelli cherubic grace, always that grace. And with that, I must leave. I have no place here, for right now at least. I will be back though. Soon.
