Erica became the youngest person to win Ghana's annual DJ award when she was only 8 years old. Ghana is known for being the 'Gold Coast' as it is the largest producer of gold in Africa. We decided to incorporate gold into Erica’s shoot as a nod to her Ghanaian heritage. Her look was inspired by both hip-hop and cultural elements to showcase her as a revolutionary young leader. This photo was photographed in studio with one large 7ft octabox light source to the right of the model and one strip box with grid placed to my left for fill.
