Lebanese artist @nabilrnahas takes inspiration from nature as well as Islamic art – particularly its geometric patterns.
Here’s a small selection of drawings by the artist that showcases the forms and colours of his work from the 1960s and ‘70s. The third drawing was a preparatory sketch for a large mural in the @yale University Chemistry Department created in 1973, which you can still see in situ today.
You too can be inspired by the patterns and designs of the Islamic world – head to islamicworld.britishmuseum.org to explore the Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic World online.
