The Moon Club was the first club I ever went to and I still remember the rush of actually getting in and hearing music at club level volume for the first time ... my girlfriends best mate was dating a DJ called Sam I think .... wow - that’s a 31 year old memory right there !! the first time I ever saw MTV was in its tiny upstairs bar which I think was called “Satellite”.... Anyway - to most people these are just a bunch of old flyers - but if you’re Bristol and 80’s then these are gonna take you back !!!  📸1 “Rhythm Method” at Busby’s - the number is a pirate radio station I think 📸2 “First Bass” - Moon Club - it was really important how many “k” your sound system was - fx could mean anything from a strobe in the corner to strawberry flavored smoke 📸3 - Rush Jam - location unknown - this was absolutely the thing in the summer of ‘89 - rendezvous then party - mentions one of the classic haunts - Slyx Burger Bar - one of the very few after hours food joints in Bristol at the time ...  📸4 “Hairline” - Moon Club - Bristol was a real musical melting pot at the time, and Latin, Funk and Soul were a big part of the club flavour 📸5 - “Vision” - Busbys - come on - DR JAM downstairs (who sold me my first 12’s at sidetrax records !) and TIN TIN (local legend ) upstairs - what a night - the rare-groove revival started right here .... heavy funk downstairs, psyche Latin upstairs .... 📸6 - “Pandemonium” - Thekla - Rave was a thing - this night was a Hacienda franchise - I don’t think it lasted long, even with “live computer hacking”- I love this one because of the outlets-Westworld was the spot  📸7+8 Corn street market was where you got all your fresh threads - I think Smith And Mighty actually had a stall there ....」10月20日 5時44分 - finkmusic
