Growing up an athlete I used to be so self conscious of my muscles. I’d see the girls that I went to school with fitting into “traditional” body types and I was constantly comparing myself to them, but I also felt bigger than my competitors. As I grew up, I learned to love my body, and celebrate my strength. My arms weren’t bulky, they were fierce and strong. My core helped me do triple triples. I didn’t have boobs or hips, but I could crush a long program. My sport was many things for me, but mostly it was empowering.
