For example, certain ‘healthy’ foods and workouts can actually make it WORSE! . For this specific case and my clients with PCOS I put a heavy focus on weight training and NOT cardio. I don’t suggest PCOS clients do cardio more than 20 mins 2x weekly. For these patients this can lead to cortisol spikes which dumps sugar into the blood stream and thus more insulin resistance. Weight GAIN is actually the outcome with more cardio for this case! I also lower PCOS clients overall carb intake with a protein-rich breakfast, and the bulk of their daily caloric intake usually consumed by midday. . ALL of my clients programs are completely customized to THEIR needs and conditions. The way I handle a client with PCOS is different than someone with Hypothyroidism, different than someone with Celiacs and different than someone who has no special conditions and just wants to trim down a bit or gain some muscle! .
