George Condo's work is steeped in the traditions of #Cubism, and the legacy of #Picasso. Painted in 2017, 'Women and Men' demonstrates the artist's command of image, colour and composition, and belongs to a series of paintings that combine a Cubist treatment of the human form with bold squares of colour. Operating as a bridge between abstraction and figuration, the work sees the artist deconstruct portraiture only to re-build it in his own, unique way.
The work will be offered at auction tonight in #London, as part of our Contemporary Art Evening Auction.
