A warming work for a wet day, Susan Hiller's 'Belshazzar’s Feast, the Writing on Your Wall' combines photography, drawing, sound and furnishings with film footage of flames. 🔥 The work was prompted by reports of apparitions appearing on tv screens after broadcasting ended, before 24-hour TV transmission. According to Hiller, the people who experienced this were ‘using television in the way that people used to use their fires’ — to 'get ideas, see shapes’ and stimulate ‘imagination, creativity, even prophecy’.
