Do you warm up before starting an exercise? Read this ⤵️
There are different ways of warming up, I’ve always been more pragmatic in my approach, performing the exercise I am about to do, with zero added weight or mimicking the movement pattern, as opposed to anything else.
I have never understood the logic (or perhaps lack of) behind loading the bar with your working weight on your very first set, and expecting to perform safely and effectively.
In 20 years of training I have never torn a muscle or had any injuries of significance, you could call it luck, but I feel my methods have contributed to that.
