Which squat form do you use? 🏋🏾‍♂️ Tag, save & share 👌🏾Read below ⤵️⁣

I’m always asked by people if they should be squatting ATG ‘ass to grass’ ‘full squat’ I say the same thing every time, squatting ATG is not compulsory for building your legs, squatting to parallel is perfectly fine. ⁣

No two people can be expected to squat exactly the same (unless they are identical twins perhaps 😅), Some people do not have the mobility or anatomy to safely and effectively perform a full squat. ⁣

I’ve always stated that you should find the best squat form for your structure. After many years of squatting with improper technique (for my structure), I went back to the drawing board and practiced squatting with just the bar, until I found MY optimal stance and depth. ⁣

In this video I do show an x on the quarter squat. I want to be clear that the quarter squat does exist as an actual technique with a defined purpose amongst ‘athletes.’ Basketball 🏀 players for example may use it to increase their vertical. ⁣

However I would say the majority of quarter squatting is mainly down to ego. I have seen both ladies and gents quarter squat weight that was just too heavy for them. Rather than fix or attempt to perfect their form, the weight just keeps going up, in unison with the depth of each subsequent squat 🤦🏾‍♂️ I’ve been there 🤷🏾‍♂️ so I’m not mocking, I’m speaking from experience. ⁣
