I am anti-war, but I view clothing as emotional armor that people with marginalized identities can use to get the strength and power to go out into this world, which can especially feel like a battle these days. I am Filipinx and I wear modern versions of scalemaille—protective armor consisting of many individual small metal scales—and chainmaille on a daily basis in the form of handpieces and a headpiece.
