Gray wolves are incredible pack animals, and they shape the landscape with their presence as an important top predator. They’ve also proven to be amazing survivors. Threats to their habitat and elimination programs put them on the verge of extinction for many years, but last week we announced that they've joined the company of the bald eagle, American alligator and brown pelican as one of the nation’s conservation success stories. This remarkable recovery is a result of more than 45 years of collaboration and partnerships with states, tribes, conservation organizations, private landowners and other federal partners—and the spirit and determination of #wolves.
