As Taschen celebrates its 40th anniversary, the publisher’s Sexy Books Editor Dian Hanson tells AnOther the story of its erotic publishing wing. “I called up Benedikt [Taschen] and told him I was ready,” Hanson recalls. “He made it clear we would not have restrictions. We would not marginalise our sex books – they would be under the same imprint as all the other books. They would have the same production standards and budgets.
