SSG Tidwell served as a Security Police NCO Squad Leader, Emergency Services Team member and Military Working Dog Handler with Patrol, Explosives and Narcotics Detection certifications. He graduated with Honors from Law Enforcement training prior to being assigned to Howard AFB Panama and Lackland AFB Texas and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service. During his enlistment, SSG Tidwell pursued undergraduate study in Business, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1989. He has since had a successful corporate career performing in various Sales and Marketing leadership roles in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
