A positive note of the pandemic is that it’s caused a huge surge in RV sales, increased camping in general, and more people than ever visiting outdoor spaces, but unfortunately it has also led to trails getting destroyed, human waste not being buried or removed, more man made fires than ever, and many other issues. I was excited when @dometic reached out saying they had joined the @conservationalliance and invited me to publicly advocate for the outdoor spaces that mean so much to me, by talking about these issues and how we can help solve them! As a rule of thumb, I treat the outdoors like I do my own home. Growing up I was taught to ‘pack it in, pack it out’, pick up other people's trash, respect wildlife, and so much more. I’ve realized and seen first hand that not everyone grew up with these principles, so it is our duty to educate those in this community, especially those who are new to the great outdoors. There is tons of great information on LNT.org but I also want this to be an open discussion to hear from you about what you’ve experienced in the outdoors recently (good or bad) and/or how we can continue to raise awareness and respect the places we all love and need. What have you observed recently? What can we all do to preserve our public lands? Etc. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. #thedestinationdeclaration #leaveitbetter #LNT Photos and video from the other evening when we parked by the beach at the end of our road to surf and cook dinner for sunset.
