Frosty and intricate, icicles hang like ornate chandeliers at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Protecting 21 islands and 12 miles of #Wisconsin shoreline on Lake Superior, #ApostleIslands experiences a dramatic transformation each #winter. This photo is from last year's #SharetheExperience #PhotoContest and shows stunning ice formations clinging to the cliffs accessed by boat off the mainland. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is open year-round, but the islands become much more challenging to access during the shoulder seasons and winter. This photo is truly brrrreautiful.
