Backlit badgers – Whenever I have a cursory glance through my old hard drives I often end up finding long forgotten images and memories, encounters from many years ago that I might have photographed so differently today should they occur again. This opening image is one such image, flawed by the annoying vegetation in front of its snoot by improved by the sheer quality of light and colour. Often times when I rediscover old images a new bit of post processing is required, later versions of @Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop are so much more adept at lifting shadow and reducing highlights. This is one such image, the original version was clumsily dark and too heavily contrasted whereas this newer version reveals so much more of the beauty and character of the little soul who’s company I shared that evening. This image, that you’ll never have seen before, is likely 13 years old and so as I reflect on this memory I hope that this badger grew to a healthy old age, his life well lived in a little corner of a quiet wood not far from where I live. What he could never have comprehended of course was just how much his life meant to others, to me, and hopefully to anyone around the world who might look upon this image now xx @willsveganstore #willsveganstore
